April 17, 9am-3pm - The Geography of Blanchard Mountain
Join us for a moderately strenuous hike in beauteous forest past two lakes, giant boulders and the highest viewpoint in the Chuckanuts (at North Butte). Learn what all the fuss is about over Blanchard Mountain. See where the DNR plans to log and where they propose to set the boundaries for a new—and painfully small—Natural Resources Conservation Area, then compare that with the Chuckanut Conservancy’s proposed boundary. Well, put up or shut up chukanut conservancy. Do some research on the Federal Enabling act, and the INTENDED purpose for these lands. These are TRUST lands to be managed to produce income. Get a couple million from microsoft if you want to set this aside...
